Right Amount Of Protein

Recommended Posts

Can someone please clear this up for me; when they say 2 - 3ozs of Protein is that measured or weighed?

Thank you Missy. Yes I do have a very good food scale. I have been weighing it but wanted to make sure that was right.

Let me ask you something, do you see my ticker & info when I post? I don't see it & I was just wondering. Thanks again.

It depends on what your surgeon has advised you to do...I was advised to measure Protein portions by volume, after cooking; 3 oz lean protein per meal...

It makes the most sense to me, as your pouch can hold only so much volume...so a weight measurement is fairly useless in this case.

Yet another example of the differences surgeons have in advising their patients...

No, I'm not Missy, but cannot see your "ticker"!

Thank you. That is why I have been confused, if my pouch only holds about 1/2 cup 3ozs weighed may be too much. I may have to discuss this with my doctor to be sure. I have been weighing Protein & I have lost 34 lbs. in 2 mths. but I want to be sure. Thanks so much.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
