Hi

My name is Judy, I am very seriously considering having the Lap Band Surgery done soon, I am very heavy (over 300 lbs) -- but....I am unsure, and I thought I would ask this question....Are you glad you did it, and would you do it again? I hope it's ok for me to send this since I haven't had the surgery. Thanks so much

Welcome Judy! You came to the right place. Lots of great info to be read here. The Before/After pics are so inspirational!

To answer, no regrets. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. There is NO way I'd be making this kind of progress without my band. Even though my progress is slow, I don't care. I'm headed down, and when I hit a plateau, I'm not gaining it all back. That's huge for me. I'm loving my 40's so far. I was dreading them at 39. I saw a fat future with no hope, and declining health to boot. Not anymore. Yay!

No regrets whatsoever. It hasn't been easy, but weight loss has NEVER been "easy." What it is now, that's it's never been before, is POSSIBLE. I've lost 129 lbs and it's staying off, for the very first time in my life.

I LOVE MY BAND, and would do it again in the proverbial heartbeat.

Hi, Judy~

I'm only a couple of months out from surgery and have lost 25 pounds without feeling miserable or deprived or starved. I know I'm not far into it, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have hope that I'll be healthy and thinner now, and hope is a priceless thing! Good luck with your decision.

Emily

Hi Judy, welcome to LBT. I was banded on Jan 9th of this year and have lost 49 pounds so far. I absolutely love my band. It has helped me get past that "fall off the wagon" point that I hit so many times before in my attempts to lose weight. We were just talking about this on another thread, about how the band keeps on working even when we lose that initial motivation.

Here are a couple of threads you might be interested in.

An hour long video in which Surgeons discuss the details of banding and show the procedure being performed (not gorey or bloody - just cool!) You will need Real Media Player. Click on View Live Webcast:

Hi Judy,

You've come to the right place! LBT is GREAT!! To answer your question, yes, I am extremely happy with my decision to be banded. I would do it again, in less than a heartbeat! As you can see by my stats below, I was banded a little over 6 months ago and I'm down 66 pounds. I'm 48 lbs. from my goal weight and hope to reach it by my 1 year mark. Best of luck to you with your decision.

Tricia :)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
