Shira 20 Posted September 12, 2012 Hi Sandra- I also had my lap band surgery the same day you did. I hope you are feeling well! I stayed overnight in the hospital which was good because I needed some extra time to recover before returning to my house full of kids. I am doing okay now but having a LOT of discomfort from the gas pains in my shoulder, chest and neck. I can't lie down on a regular bed without feeling the pressure go up to my neck so I have been sleeping on my recliner and just walking around a lot. Thankfully, I don't have much pain at my incision site so far. Glad to be in this together. My starting weight is around the same as yours. Wishing you all the best for a complete and speedy recovery!
Duhs9919 17 Posted September 12, 2012 Banded same day as y'all. Have you tried the gas-x strips they work great for gas. A s I've taken a small sip of diet ginger ale to help me burp. Felt much better.
SandraO 22 Posted September 13, 2012 Excited to share this new chapter with youladies!!! The gas disconfotrt subsided, i dont like to sleep om myleftside because ifeel increase in pressure. Anyone else experience this??
Shira 20 Posted September 13, 2012 I have been sleeping in a recliner most of the time. I try sleeping in my bed but it's too uncomfortable when I lay down bc all the gas pressure moves up to my neck and chest. I feel a little short of breath from it. One thing has has been a big help is that I bought a belly band to wear around my abdomen to decrease the pressure. When I am wearing this I can lay on either side more comfortably. lookinfwd 2 Posted September 13, 2012 I've got the lapband the same day. I also have been sleeping on my recliner. So much easier to get up with not having to ask for help. So I sometimes feel a rumble in my tummy. Could it be hunger or gas??? Im just not hungry but would like something different to eat rather than juice, broth and sf Jello and Popsicles. I considering going back to work tomorrow. I'm at the same WAight range too. Started my journey at 295lbs and date of surgery 278 and today at 275. So glad I did it. 1 MikeW reacted to this
shannac 0 Posted September 16, 2012 I too was banded on Monday September 10. How are you guys feeling? I still have pain and am very sore. It is very hard to take deep breaths at time and even harder to get all the liquids down. Anyone feeling great with no problems or should i be worried?! It's worse when I lie down def . Mint tea helps as does moving about but it's not great. My start weigh was 18stone 4 now down to seventeen

tipsyb 71 Posted September 16, 2012 The left side thing is correct I get the same. I'm going to increase the walking tomorrow, I've had to put pillows into sitting position which is alleviating some of it, but it's such a pain both physically and emotionally.
