Any Ideas When You Are Craving Chocolate??

Recommended Posts

Ok so I am being tested for PCOS and other things because I have like pregnancy cravings for chocolate and anything salt the week and a half BEFORE mt period! It's bad! Of course I'm not on the pill anymore either! I hate Chinese food, chips and chocolate bit find myself eating it! My guilty food has always been ice cream and I haven't touched it! Anyone have a low calorie idea on how to get the cravings satisfied without blowing this whole thing! Ugh!

I make popsicles out of a pre made Protein Shakes, like EAS or Adkins. I put the shake in a popsicle mold and freeze it. I get 6 popsicles out of 1 shake. When I crave chocolate ice cream I have one and the craving is satisfied. It works for me.

IDK, when I crave chocolate (every day), I make FF SF chocolate pudding.

If you have the stomach for it, and the strength it takes to go no further, you could go to the grocery store and buy one of those bulk mini candy bars to soothe that craving. I found that just one piece did the trick.

You're craving Chinese? They have steamed vegetable dishes, or you could get the chicken on a stick (no sauce).

Good luck, you'll figure it out. ;) ;)

Jello also makes a refrigerated sugar free chocolate mousse that I like if I am craving chocolate or sugar free fudgecicles. Yum.

I like the idea of making Protein shake popsicles though!

If I am really craving a salty snack, I like the (new) Special K cracker chips. They are 110 calories per bag and I let one bag be 3 servings so I am only having about 30-40 calories each serving.

After years and years of this weight loss journey I have learned that when you are craving something NOTHING is going to take away the craving except to have that item...so...have some chocolate. Have just a bite or two and quell that craving--no sense in driving yourself crazy trying to figure out to make something to take it's place.

What I do is get some M&Ms (for example) and take a few then give the rest of the small bag to my son (age 4) who finishes them. I look at it as a special treat for both of us.

I agree with the other posters. If I want something I have it. But thats now... For the forst 200 lbs I just found a substitue...as I was on a track which I refused to be derailed off of so sugar free pudding was the go to. One of those premade Jello SF puddings are only like 60 calories. Another was the Granola thins... they are 80 calories I think and the chocolate it a very thin layer but it satisfied me.

Now... If I want candy I will have 2 or 3 peanut M&Ms. Thats it.... then I either toss the rest of the bag or hand it to hubby who doesnt struggle with his weight.

I make a mixture of ricotta cheese, Herseys cocoa powder, Splenda and you can add a tiny bit of vanilla. It tastes good and is high in Protein.< /p>

Yummy that ricotta cocoa idea sounds really good. I have cottage cheese maybe I'll try it with that.

Skyvic. I am not sure it would be good with cottage cheese, but it's real good with ricotta

This is so quick to make and taste great. Good for the soft diet stages as well

1/4 cup low fat Ricotta

1/4 teaspoon unsweetened Hershey cocoa powder

1/2 - 1 packet of Splenda, depending on how sweet you like it

Mix together. You can add more chocolate if you like. Optional add a few drops of vanilla.

6.2 gm Protein

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
