JenM 9 Posted September 11, 2012 I am not really sure about the soft food stage of my band. I understand that you must eat soft food (sugar free Jello, sugar free pudding, oatmeal, apple sauce, ect.) But, how much do you eat? The whole cup of jello? A whole serving of oatmeal? I am post op and STARVING! (I assume this too, is normal?!)
Maddysgram 6,159 Posted September 11, 2012 My dietitian said 1/4 to 1/2 cup. But every Dr is different. Are you able to call and talk with your surgeons office? I got so much paperwork on diet, foods to eat & foods to avoid. I'm glad I did b/c when they're telling you it's like info over load. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted September 11, 2012 You should've been given a diet plan by your surgeon's office to follow post op. What you are describing is the mushie phase not the soft food phase. If you don't have it for some reason, contact your surgeon to see what they recommend. 1 Maddysgram reacted to this

fostermomma 39 Posted September 12, 2012 I am in the same boat! They gave me all kinds of information on what to eat on the post-op diet but not how much. I had a cup a Tomato basil Soup last night and tonight and a shake for breakfast and lunch. I'm actually only supposed to have 3 shakes a day until Thursday but I found the soup isn't any thicker than the shakes. Good luck!
