NWgirl 574 Posted September 11, 2012 That's a really quick progression to normal foods- most post-op diets allow normal food at 1 month out. Are you following your surgeons food plan? Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
prettysmart1913 48 Posted September 11, 2012 I am on normal food after two weeks as well. I am sticking to 1200 calories and after a week have gained. I am still down from surgery and realize that my body kicked into starvation mode on the liquids/mushies at 600-800. I am allowing my body to adjust and wait on my fill. 1 Maddysgram reacted to this
wendy40 2 Posted September 11, 2012 Thank you for your response I am sticking to 1000 cal, but my problem it that I need to stay away from my scale as today I am down the 2.5pounds I gained yesterday, it really upset me. So will only weight myself once a week from now on which is a friday. I was speaking to by hubby last night and he was saying that I really need to give my body the month to recover. 1 big thing that we have to remember is that the weight did not come on over night. I think my problem is that I am expecting it to be gone after 2 weeks so it's getting my head right, another thing the reason I am overweight is because of so many failed attempted on weight loss, therefore I am just waiting for this one to fail, which we know we have the best tool to help us, just to have faith and work with it. Thank you for reading my post 1 prettysmart1913 reacted to this
prchrskd 12 Posted September 12, 2012 I have lost and gained hundreds of lbs in my life. Enough is enough. So as a future lapbander I have that same fear of failure. I think one key to success is keeping the support of our medical staff, friends & family, and the good folks on this forum. Encouragement means a lot. DEBPROBST 10 Posted September 15, 2012 I was banded on the 10th and am on a liquid diet for the first two weeks. They say that your tummy needs to heal and your body recover. I have lost almost 15 lbs since the surgery, but when u weigh 454 at surgery..that isnt really a big deal. take it slow, listen to your doctors and follow the plan to the "T". The band is a tool, but like so mnay other things in our lives...we can find ways arouind it. Dont forget Vitamins during this crucial time and be sure that you are moving. Even around the house, in the driveway...as much as you can every day. Little bits add up to a LOT. Good Luck and stay Focused!! We are all going to succeed
