Is An 8 A Romotely Possible Size After Sugery?

Recommended Posts

It is possible. There are some younger ladies than I who have gone below 8. 8 was my goal, I am now 10 because I have gained some back. Have a closet full of 8's waiting for me to lose my extra weight again. my surgeon is happy with the way I look, I am not. But, back to your question, yes it is possible to go to 8 or lower! Best wishes.Karen

Yes, it is... and it was a surprise to me too! My goal was to get to size 10, but somehow I skipped the tens and went right to an 8 from 12 (mostly because I am always a little chicken to try on a new size until the old size gets baggy!) I started at size 20 and today reached my original goal weight of 155. For me at 5'8", that is a size 8 :)

My revised goal weight is 145 and I am now also working on toning things up with yoga and walking!

Good luck! You can do it!

I was in a tight size 26 and now wear a 6. It won't be long before that 8 looks like your new normal.

HI guys' date=' so I went ahead and got a super awesome pair of size 8 jeans as inspiration. They came in the mail today and they look soo small! Has anybody made it to an eight? Or am I just setting myself up for failure? I am scheduled to be banded next month.

I know I will have to work super hard, the band is not a magic pill, it is a tool, It is more important to focus on my health, know I know I swear, but is an eight on the table?

I am currently an 18 or 20 in jeans. I haven't worn an eight since my air force days about fifteen years and two c sections ago.[/quote']

An eight is definitely possible!!!! One of my BF was banded almost a year ago and she went from a 20 to a size 8 and she looks amazing!!!!! You can do it. An eight is definitely possible. Good luck!!!

I started out at a 18-20. Now i'm a 7-8. Was in a 6, but i gained about 5lbs. I was starting to get a lot of .... how much more are you going to lose... and ... your getting to thin.

My gain has nothing to do with others think. It has to do with me getting lazy and not going to the gym. I also think i may have a leak. But that another story.

You can certainly obtain a size 8. My starting weight was 223 and im at 149. was at 144.

Wow that's awesome! Sounds like you were exactly my size weight now. How long did it take you? 140s seem so very far away!

Anything is possible. Stay committed to your diet and exercise regiment, make healthy eating decisions and follow up with your surgeon as per his/her recommendation. Sky is the limit. Good luck!

I was in a tight 26 and now am in shock as I tried on a bunch of size 12s and they fit!! I haven't been there since high school. Don't think size 8 will be for me but I am really happy with a 12`

I was a slow loser.... i loss on average 2-4lbs per month. My largest loss was during my two week pre diet. At first i was worried that i had failed at this too, but then through everything i did always lose, i never gained (until now). So i excepted it and was grateful for every pound. My first year i lost 60 and then the next year i lost 20. I had my Tummy Tuck this past February couldn't work out for 6-8 weeks and got lazy and that's how the few pounds found me. Starting the C25k today.

As much as i didn't want to admit..... Exercise is the key. eating small amounts of good food through out the day kept my hunger at bay....

Time will come faster than you think.... i can't believe it's been almost three years.... I would do it again in a heartbeat with out a second thought.... it was and still is worth everything you go thru.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
