Food Temptations At Work. Eek!

Recommended Posts

So I am currently in my car eating the healthy lunch I packed for myself. I work in a dermatology office and my coworkers are constantly snacking on candy, Cookies, cake, pop. Every single day I come in someone has brought in treats. Today they brought in 2 cakes and catering from a Chinese restaurant. My desk is directly facing the kitchen... There is no door and I look into it all day. The food smells were killing me so I just had to get out of there. lol

My coworkers know I am banded so I do feel the need to be a good example and not indulge in those things. So far I've done very well but it sucks some days.

Anyone else have this problem? How do you deal with it and resist temptations?

I work at a medical office and there is constantly treats. On Thursday, a neighboring office brought over two dozen donuts, then we had two pudding cakes and catered Panera. I just take a deep breath and tell myself I don't need it. If that isn't working, I avoid the break room all together. The second I finish the lunch I brought, I go for a walk. It's not easy though!

This is the story of my life! I work in a hospital and if it's not patient families brining in treats it's supervisors catering famous Dave's or a co worker bringing in goodies. i was just banded on the 6th I go back to work on the 17th I'm almost positive there will be something there! I'll just have to stay strong

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
