Anwyn 0 Posted March 23, 2006 Hi everyone, I just returned home after a 4 day stay in the hospital. I was having bad reflux and stomach pain last week, so I went in to get it checked out. As I suspected/dreaded, my band had slipped. I had band revision surgery on Tuesday and was released this morning. So far, so good... the pain isn't quite as bad as it was with my first banding. They put in a new band but kept the old port, so that could have something to do with the decrease in pain. The doctors don't know why my band slipped. I've PB'd 3 times in the 8 months since my original surgery, but those were months ago. I don't drink pop or take NSAID's (in case you were wondering! ) If there's one thing I'm guilty of it's eating too quickly on occasion. I think I'm just one of the unlucky "1-3%" we're always hearing about. Time for sleep. :notagree

Jerseytammy 0 Posted March 23, 2006 Anne, Thanks for letting us know you are ok, you were in our thoughts and prayers. I am glad to see yoru doctor was able to catch the slip band and get you a new one. Hey maybe you got an upgrade. I do have a question tho, I know they say the insurance companies will pay to have a slipped band removed, but will they pay again to have it replaced as you did? Heal fast and feel better always. PhotoNut 7 Posted March 23, 2006 Hey Anne.. Sorry to hear about the slip. I can't figure out how these happen when the stomach is sewn around the band. Did your stitches come loose? I'm glad youre home and doing well. Rest and take care of yourself. All things happen for a reason. Maybe you needed this 'fresh start'.
