I'm four days post op and Starting yesterday I've been getting hunger pain so bad it's making me nauseous. I'm hungry but of course I'm

not going to eat . Nothing even really sounds appetizing because I'm so nauseous. My stomach is growling so loud. I haven't eaten real food for six days. I'm also having such a hard time getting all my fluids in. Today my pain is down but these hunger pains are killing me. I'm on all clears until Thursday then onto full liquids. Any suggestions on what to do for the hunger pains ??

The thing that helped me was homemade veggie Soup. All the other stuff was sweet and that just seemed to make me feel sicker, once I started on the Soup the nausea seemed to subside.

Are you still taking pain meds? Sometimes they can make you feel nauseous.

I'm 7 days out, and I get them too. About every 2-3 hours like clock work. Sometimes a little Water stops them but other times I have some Protein Shake or Soup and it stops!

I stopped taking the pain meds yesterday I think that played a huge part in it too. I tried some broth yesterday but I just couldn't stomach it. I'll try making home made veggie soup. Thanks for the advice.

My first week I felt nauseous a few times and I think it was from drinking too fast. Try that and see if that helps

I had exactly the same thing. Terrible hunger pains and a pit in my stomach that made me feel so nauseous. I couldn't tolerate anything sweet - just thinking of my Protein Shake turned my stomach. I called my doctor's office and he allowed me to have strained, cream Soup. Made a huge difference!

My doctor allowed me to have creamed or blended Soups which made a difference to me. You just have to be careful about sodium and fat content. Also, when you can tolerate sweet stuff, chocolate Protein Powder, skim/ 1% milk, a little ice, and a spoonful of Peanut Butter makes a good Protein Shake. The peanut butter cuts the after-taste of the Protein and it also seems more satisfying...hope this helps!
