Season ?

Recommended Posts

Do we lose more weight in summer or winter. I live in Alabama and when it's hot it's hot and when it's cold it's freezing. Does the temp make a difference?

I doubt seasons have much to do with losing weight except for holidays. It's also harder to work out outdoors in the winter so that may play into it but temperatures should not matter.

I have a friend that got band on November and lost alot of weight. She said that the cold temperature made band feel tighter. So i wanted to see if this was true.

LOL, unless you live in FL. Winter is our play time.

So, it's reversed there? You can't exercise outdoors in the summer since it's too hot and humid?

when my hub was in af, we were stationed in minneapolis, mn

on one of my success storeis at losing weight, i lost 50 pounds from like nov to march (in sub zero temps)

and then another time in san antonio when hub was stationed there in 110+ degrees

in summer or fall, 3500 cals is a pound--- if you eat more than that or drink more, you will gain..

regardless if its in my beloved south or alaska

so what is the moral of my story

dont overeat and try to eat healthy and exercise when you can

all seasons

all the best to all us bandits

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
