Cheated... :(

Recommended Posts

So I was banded on august 9th and have been doing great sticking to the post op diets, lost a little bit over 30lbs so far... Well I just had a weak moment, someone brought home Chinese food and I could not resist having a scallion pancake. Let me tell you that was not a good idea at all! Not only do I feel guilty but I feel crappy! I don't think my body is used to all that greasy crap anymore! Well at least I know how it feels to cheat now, tomorrow is a new day! And if anyone is thinking of cheating, don't do it with Chinese food! Lol

A very minor infraction, as Patty wisely said, just shake it off and move on. I'm sure you did zero harm to your band or your weight loss so simply chalk it up to a learning experience.

Btw, congratulations on the weight loss, you're off to a great start!!

I had several days of bad choices last week. I've refocused and am moving on too. BTW, great name! We've got this thing!

Admitting it is the hardest part! So, you are human and had a moment of weakness. None of us are perfect. I agree with the comments above. You have the right attitude about moving on and going forward. Half the battle, at least for me personally, and I would think for most people, is not beating ourselves up if we get off track momentarily, but rather realizing the error of our ways and starting over again. Good job. You'll be fine!

I had 4 pieces of general tau chicken last night.... first fried food I have had in 21 months! I am guessing it was 2 oz of meat but then Breading is what kills ya. But Not a darn thing wrong with it except I too feel guilty... But I am 9 lbs from goal and it's not like I ate the entire quart... Thats the beauty of the band... Even if you fall of the wagon it will not let you drown as long as you are paying attention to it,

And what I learned from this journey is that today I am eating normally and there will be no reprecussions. It's the day after day of eating poorly that catches up to you.

I love what you have said here!! I ate Taco Time today. The most I have eaten at one time since being banded. I am feeling so guilty and 7 hours later with nothing else to eat because I still feel stuffed. It's the most I have been able to eat at one time, now of course I'm having thoughts of "I hope I didn't ruin anything." I was banded August 15th and have lost 24lbs which everyone says is great. In the past when I would lose weight I would get to a certain point and just pig out again and the cycle would start again. I was always such a volume eater that it's been one of my bigest challanges since being banded. At least I am recognizing this though and tomorrow is a new day. I did track my bad day today on Myfitnesspal so I stayed accountable for my poor choice. Thank you for reminding me today that I am still human and I'm not alone!!

. I was super strict with myself but there isn't one of us here who didn't push the envelope at some point during the journey. It's the repeated behavior that gets you into trouble. I tracked everything...I think that's one of the best secrets to my loss. Good luck to you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
