NeenBand 7 Posted March 23, 2006 Hey all. Every month I give my mom a massage (I was a certified massage therapist) and she called to ask when I might be able to resume them. I know no lifting for a few weeks. I'd be using my body, pushing and pulling but not lifting.
cashley 0 Posted March 24, 2006 My doctor said I could start exercising after a week.
Jonathan 5 Posted March 24, 2006 I'd wait until your incisions have healed, then go at it. And I'm sure I'll never say this again, but I wish I was your mom!
NeenBand 7 Posted March 24, 2006 LOL Jonathan. I know, I wish there was another therapist in the family so I could get them too! I'm hoping with weight loss, I will feel well enough to go back to my career. I loved it.
the best me 6 Posted March 24, 2006 Cool, do you travel? LOL (I'm in North Carolina, haha) I'd say wait until you are getting adequate nutrition before you expend too! many calories working that hard. Make sure you have the stamina, as well as healed incisions. Post-surgery exercise is usually walking, then brisk walking. But I hear of go-getters hopping on the eliptical after a week, or something crazy like that. Nuts, I say! haha
