myownrules 1 Posted September 5, 2012 I'm getting so discouraged I really want this lap band surgery I'm 23 newly engaged and want children within the next five years. I have a very supportive fiancé who has been through my ups and downs and medical issues due to being so over weight ( have been my whole life) and don't think it's fair to my future husband and children to see me die from all the medical issues that come with 400+ lbs, but my sad reality is unless my insurance pays the majority I will be unable to have the surgery I have medical mutual anyone else? 1 tflemon67 reacted to this

My insurance absolutely would not cover weight loss surgery, most employers have the option to either include or exclude of course my plan excludes. I was able to get my band via a hernia repair (which IS covered). I'm responsible for the cost of the band which is $5500 (True Results - Houston). True Results is financing the $5500 portion at $267 per month for 2 years. I plan to try and wipe most of it out next year and its a covered medical expense under FSA. Hopefully you'll be able to find another way of getting your band paid for. Contact True Results if there is one in your area.
myownrules 1 Posted September 9, 2012 Thank you Hun. It's all so confusing,I've been told to try care credit for the extra expenses I'm waiting to hear back from my insurance company to see how much they will or will not cover

I live 3 hrs away and hoping they will agree to do my surgery since I don't live in the area. Sent from my iPad using LapBandTalk
