Hi April bandsters! How is everyone doing? I'm happy to report 41 pounds down. I'm almost in the green zone. Recently started exercising and it's helping me lose nicely. So glad I did this!

Awesome!!

I am down 77 post-op. Things have been slowing down a bit as of late. I seem to lose right after a fill and then the scale doesn't move for two weeks. I have to admit I have not been exercising as much as I should be and I step on the scale way to often.

I was banded 4/16. My progress has been slow, but I know that is mostly my own doing. I am down 34 lbs since surgery. I have had 3 fills, but they are very conservative so I think I am only at 2.5 cc in a 10 cc band. I was supposed to have a fill yesterday, but pushed it back to the 20th cause feeling like I need to make some more changes personally than just relying on fills. Overall I am happy where things are at!

Well, chemo went as well as chemo could have gone. I was cleared as no signs of post chemo growth the 8th of August. I go back in December for another scan to check again. I was finally banded on aug 30th and am on week two of mushiness...and down 17 pounds! My first fill will be oct 15th! Yay!

I had lap band surgery on April 9th; down 37 pounds; have an AP Large Lap Band that can hold up to 14 cc's; after several fills, I am at 7 cc's --- still not in green zone; joining AnyTime Fitness has helped. I feel like I have done better with losing inches than pounds (odd?) the weight loss has been slower than I anticipated as I search for the ever allusive restriction; I should change my screen name to "TURTLE"

I was banded 4/20 and am down 43 lbs. I have not been exercising much. I will be getting my elliptical in October. Can not wait to start. I had my 5th fill last thursday and I feel as does my dr, that I am close to the green zone but Im not 100% sure and she could not tell me. So I guess that we will see.

Congrats to everyone and good luck continuing on this wonderful life changing journey.

I was banded on April 5 and have to date lost 77 lbs. I have only had one fill (started off with 4ccs put in at surgery) and am now at 5ccs in a 10cc band. I don't exercise as regularly as I should, but am very strict on getting in all my Protein and making sure I drink plenty of Water. I'm hoping to be down 100 pounds by Christmas, which I think I can manage if I really focus on my exercise. Good luck to you all, and keep up the good work!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
