Recommended Posts

I got my band yesterday(21st). I had my surgery at 8:30am, and was up drinking baium at 2pm for Doctor to see if things were passing ok.

I got home around 6pm. I had to cut my pain pills into 4ths to be able to take them....let me tell you after 8 chunks and some sips of Water I felt so full.

Today hasn't been as bad. My mom and I took the girls to school and went to Target and SteinMart and a few other little shops. LOL hubby won't believe I was able to go out and spend his money today!!!!

thanks to all of you who pepped talk me in the days prior to my surgery!!!!

Welcome jtrek! You're a loser now too!!! :):( A group we are all now HAPPY to be in! Hang in there, but let yourself be pampered too...surgery takes a lot out of you, regardless of how "serious" it is.

Welcome to the club!!!!!

welcome to our world. take it easy though. you may feel well, but you are still swollen inside and your body needs time to heal. save the money for your "skinny" outfits for the summer.

Thanks for all your kind words and support!!!!

:update:

I have gone out Shopping/walking each day since surgery. Today mainly walking but did buy some sf Jello at Walmart.< /span>

You won't believe what cruel punishment I inflicted on myself Wednesday night(1 day post-op) I grilled steaks, made a nice salad & greenbeans for my Mom, Hubby and girls. Then I sat at dinner table while they ate.......:phanvan but hey I survived it!!! I even cooked again last night, but tonight Mom was gone and I let Hubby fend for the girls!!!! My stomach sure growls alot but I have been eating Jello, drinking some(little bit) high protien slim fast, tea, Water, coffee. I haven't had to take the pain meds since Wednesday....so I am happy so far with the way I feel!!!

Love to all Y'all here at LBT

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
