Sophie99 1 Posted September 3, 2012 Hey everyone, i was just banded and have alot of questions. I cannot lay down without immediately getting sick. It immediately causes me to start dry heaving which is very painful. Another problem im having is i cannot burp. Im hoping these issues are just short term and not permanent. If anyone has any suggestions/advice i would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!
Maddysgram 6,159 Posted September 3, 2012 Sounds like you need to walk, walk walk. Also are you laying down right after you're full of your fluids. Dr. Told me not to lay down for a hour.
Sophie99 1 Posted September 3, 2012 I have been walking and only took my pain meds for 48 hours. However, my dr did not tell me to wait or cut off fluids at a certain time before lying down. I will try that tonight before i go to bed and see if that helps. Thanks!
mybella 35 Posted September 3, 2012 are you nauseous do you takes med for nauseas. I don't have saline in my band, maybe you are still swollen and if you have saline in your band that could be it. also I was told right after surgery to drink only 4oz of Fluid and it should take me an hour, so 1oz every 15 minutes. MrsJroChicago 32 Posted September 3, 2012 Could still be gas in your system too wreaking havoc. Try lying down but propped up a bit so you aren't too flat. Might help a bit. If not, call your dr in the morning.

melissaw1976 26 Posted September 4, 2012 gas x helped me a lot with the burping. Try the disolvable ones. I had my band in the day before you. It was a rough few days but finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!
