I had left shoulder pain with gas and I am 11 days out. I still get it once to twice a day. I try hard to eat and drink slowly so I can reduce gas.

I was also banded on 28th and have found the shoulder pain the worst part so far! I have been drinking peppermint tea which is supposed to disperse the bubbles and it has been more bearable today - hope it wont last too much longer!

I'm 4 days post-op and gas pain in my belly and shoulder is nearly unbearable. I get up and move around and my new best friend is my heating pad. I hope this goes away soon. Also has anyone else experienced a headache? Day 2 and nothing seems to touch it..

First day with no shoulder pain - hurrah!! Hope it stays that way. Can anyone recommend a Multivitamin? Ive had difficulty finding a liquid multivitamin to take and have resorted to baby Vitamin drops just to get something in!

well, i had surgery on a wed and my shoulder starting hurting on sat/sun. it lasted a good 5 or 6 days and then one day i woke up and it was gone. as missy says, heating pad worked wonders (as did a hot shower directly on my shoulder) but took pain meds to help with that pain, that is for sure. def hurt pretty bad. but it will get better (each day). congrats on your surgery and i wish you all the best. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
