Hi everyone I am having my Surgery September 13 and yesterday started my Pre-Op diet. I was just wondering I love Avacado in my salad is it counted as an unlimited veggie or a protien or is it even allowed?

I think avocados are great because they have a good bit of Protein and the fat is the good kind. There are some great avocado recipes out there for bandsters.

They are truly amazing, I could eat them all the time -- but let's admit it, they are full of fat, even if it's the good kind. I doubt they would count as an "unlimited veggie." I was told just greens, mushrooms, and tomatoes.

I would ask your doctor.....but you might not like the answer!

Avo's are very healthy but they are also full of calories. Normally a serve of avo is 1/4 of a small one. They are definitely not an unlimited veggie.

sparingly of course, .... be mindful of the calories/fat intake for the day :)

I wasn't allowed avo's on my pre op diet because I was on a liquid one. However as much as I enjoy them theyre so high in calories I eat them rarely.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
