DeAna N 229 Posted August 31, 2012 are you tracking how much you are eating? I use myfitness pal I feel part of the battle is knowing how much you are eating so you will stay on target obviously we can't be the best at guessing how much to eat or we wouldn't need the band but don't give up just start fresh today tomorrow is over and done fresh start hope I helped
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted August 31, 2012 The best thing to do is take a look at the things you can control and change in your life. -How many calories a day are you eating? -Are you getting in all your Protein? -Are you sticking to a cup or less of food per meal? 1 jen_1381 reacted to this

DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted August 31, 2012 First, I'd start tracking calories for at least a couple weeks. Most who don't track calories are shocked at how much they're actually consuming when they do start tracking them. Keep in mind the band isn't supposed to make you feel full. It supposed to make you feel satisfied, or no longer physically hungry, on less food for longer time periods. Don't expect that same full feeling we had before surgery- that is not what you're supposed to strive for. Have you been to a nutritionist? If not, that would be another smart step to take. A nutritionist who deals with bariatric patients can help you set up realistic food guidelines for optimal weight loss. It's possible you don't have adequate Fluid in your band yet, but if you want to lose weight I'd still stick to a cup or less of food per meal and count calories in the meantime. Whitney Cunningham 1 Posted August 31, 2012 Thank you for your suggestions I'm going to keep a better journal and see a nutritionist. But also I don't think I have enough Fluid either.
♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted August 31, 2012 Ok Whitney, this may seem a little harsh and mean but I think you might need a little tough love. It sounds like you are only putting in a half ass attempt at this. The band is only going to do for you what you allow. We all could eat more that 1 cup of food but we stop at a cup. You log your food Monday - Friday. What happens on Sat & Sun? Free for all?? And you only log the food not the calories, etc.? Do you want this? Cause it doesn't sound like it to me.... That being said, it's time to change. Tomorrow is a new day and the beginning of your new life. You will get a ton of tips from everyone here. We are all here to help. I KNOW YOU WANT THIS & CAN DO IT!! We believe in you and will support you every step of the way. Sorry if you feel I'm being too mean. I say it all with love. 1 jen_1381 reacted to this

Its 40 pounds and thats Amazing! Lets also remember that the band is a tool to assist you with your goal! I believe in you so start believing in yourself! As others have said...Keep your food log! Ever thought maybe you are straving your body and its holding onto everything you have! You might really be surprised once you keep track EVERYDAY! And ya gotta get off the couch sweety! Exercise! You will be so amazed at your results and how much better you will have those 40 pounds gone and sweating a little bit! Believe in yourself and anything is possible! Lets do it! Setting a mini goal really helped me stay on track! Best of luck!!
karewpah 173 Posted August 31, 2012 Just think...if you're only half way attempting this...if you fully committed and dedicated yourself to it, the weight would almost fly off. So only 20 lbs in 5 months...low end of the range, but still in the range and know that you won't see those lbs again Might be time for a fill to get you into the green zone where you feel satisfied with less for longer And remember...it's a marathon not a sprint...btw...congrats on the total40 pound loss...that IS quite an accomplishment
