I have a much diminished lung capacity right now (banded Monday), and have the phlegm, but I can tell that my lungs are clear. (Asthmatic my whole life...) binab 50 Posted August 30, 2012 I don't know, but I would call the Dr if only for peace of mind. If its just pain and tightness, its likely normal (ESP if you had hernia repair), if there is any wheezing, I'd for sure call. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I was given a little breathing aparatus and instructed to use it every hour to help inflate the lungs and stave off pneumonia. You need to call your Dr.'s office you don't want pneumonia to set in.
