RhondaMarie 67 Posted August 29, 2012 That's awful. It's ridiculous how eating healthy costs so much more than junk. How can it cost more when it has less ... less sugar... less carbs... etc. It's a shame that people trying to eat right struggle to pay for it. As to whatever situation you're going thru... I am not ashamed to admit I have been there and I can only hope and pray that better days are ahead.
TexasJeff 179 Posted August 29, 2012 You'll have to make choices for the rest of your life. I have $1, I'm hungry and I'm out and about doing errands. Hmmmm, the $1 menu or stop by a real store and get a piece of fruit. Living in San Antonio, TX I deal with this a lot. Taco places on every street corner and I really want one. But, make the wise choice and this lap band journey will take you to places you've always wanted to go but couldn't.
wildrose1966 396 Posted August 29, 2012 Is it possible for you to go to a Soup kitchen to get one good meal in. It is not good for you or anyone to be so hungry. Is there a friend you can go to for assistance or a hot meal? Good luck to you.
prettysmart1913 48 Posted August 30, 2012 Find a social service agency that helps people in your predicament. Most cities have a service that allows you to dial 211 and they can direct you to some that can help. Praying for you!
suzeeq67 23 Posted August 30, 2012 Family services is not the only option like the above person commented! Call your local churches, food banks, etc. There are a ton of free or nominal care services in my area. Some offer free food, discounted groceries, canned goods, etc. We all need help sometimes and if it's for better health, it's worth it. Your life is worth it. Explain you situation to the care worker, they can probably keep directing you to other people who can help. Good luck and best wishes. If you need my help looking up some information on this stuff, PM me and I'll send you a list & numbers to call in your area.
