Gotta Love Harvest Time

Recommended Posts

Had to post this. I've been at a plateau for about 5 weeks now. No fault of the band, it's me. I live in Colorado and it's harvest time here. Corn, zuchinni, green chili peppers, cantaloupe, green beens, fruit of all kinds and the list can go on and on.

For me, this is worse than the Holidays. Only during the Holidays the temptations are truly bad foods for you. Now, it's fresh fruit and veggies. Can't help myself and eat more than I should. I'm not apologizing, I'm probably boasting a little :D

Oh, I'm not gaining any weight, in fact, I think as soon as the harvest is over, I can drop 3-4 lbs in a few days. You know when you get to that point where if you were disciplined for a week you could break that plateau? That's where I am but I don't wanna right now! LOL...

If you're like me, click the LIKE tab. Just curious how many of you out there love natural foods?

TMF,

I love all those delishous foods you mentioned above, especially zuchinni! MMMM.. I rather load up on healthy foods than bad foods. I think you are doing really good and you are extremely mindful.

I almost literally have to sit on my hands to keep away from Jersey fresh peaches, tomatoes and corn!! I know the time is ending for them.. potato chips and junk food, eh.. someone else can have them, but a ripe, delicious juicy peach... to die for!!

LOL, too funny. I am sure many of us can relate.

Post op, while on the liquid phase still, I was dying for the tomatoes that were ripening on my vines. I actually cut a few open and drank the juice out of them ~ man they were GOOD!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
