Did your doctor discuss with you the things that can make your band slip ? All mine mostly said was heavy lifting and I use to do home health and afraid I will never do that again

I was just told nothing over 20 pounds for lifting. Mainly watch what you eat and how fast so you dont throw it up to cause a slippage.

I know this will sound stupid but right now we are banded but with no restraints well I'm not I get the first fill in 4 to 6 weeks so how do you no if you have over eaten except for the full filling I for sure don't wanna over eat and have to have another surgery to fix it

Thats kind of what I was thinking. I think being on the liquid diet for so long will get our stomach use to what we have been eating, so maybe anymore then that you will feel full. I know my doc office said alot of people come back for their first fill not feeling any different, or even gaining wait. This part is to get us use to eating better things for us. I think you have a little Fluid in the band right now, so maybe you wont eat as much when you switch to normal food.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
