MissManda85 9 Posted August 27, 2012 So this is a recent development. The last week or so I've been dizzy. And not sure what is that cause. Sometimes it's room spinning, other times I just feel weird. Anyone else encounter that? I'm 5 months post op on the 29th of this month. Down 24lbs from my heaviest point prior to surgery. Thanks!! DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted August 27, 2012 That is something you need to see your doctor about. It could be many, many things causing it. Some that are no big deal and others very serious. Whatever the case, a visit with your primary care physician is in order.
elcee 3,342 Posted August 27, 2012 It could be low blood sugar, low Iron, low potassium, low BP.......... the list goes on. As Mis says, you need to go to the Doc and get it checked out.
elcee 3,342 Posted August 27, 2012 If it happens again try having a sweet drink. If it is from low blood sugar that will help. It needs to be a proper sweet drink - some kind of fruit juice or something else with sugar in - artficially sweetened drinks won't help.
sandman27959 38 Posted August 27, 2012 Go see your doctor. I had a bout of dizziness and realized it was related to my intake of too much caffeine. I was drinking a lot of coffee and green tea - so much in fact I was having an irregular heartbeat that was causing the dizziness. Started drinking Decaf and switched to Water and it cleared right up. Yours may be different, but a doctor can help you get to the root cause. Good luck. D. SageTracey 608 Posted August 28, 2012 Could be inner ear, could be vertigo, could be, could be, could be lots of things. Good luck.
Justme9786 50 Posted August 28, 2012 As others have said, it could be a number of things. Low bp, blood sugar, ear infection, dehydration, etc etc etc. I will say that I had a bout of dizziness that lasted for about a week or two after my gallbladder surgery and it turned out to be postural hypotension (blood pressure dropped as I would sit up and even lower when I stood up). Doctor told me to drink Gatorade to bring it back up some and it helped tremendously! (ive never had BP problems) Gatorade always seems to help me whenever I feel like crap I'm general. However, if you have high blood pressure, Gatorade would not be a good idea. So either way, I'd check with your doc.
