Bamabander 111 Posted August 27, 2012 I have been having some excruciating pain below my port on the top and right of my belly button. The pain increase with any activity and subsides at rest. It got so bad several days ago that I had to leave my grocery cart and go home... It is a burning, searing pain that almost feels as though I'm being pinched from the inside. I saw my family doc Thursday, he thought an incisional hernia. Had a CT with barium and contrast on Friday morning and it was normal.., no hernia. I am seeing my surgeon tomorrow because, although it comes and goes and isn't always dibilitating I can't live like this... Any thoughts? Has anyone else ever had a similar experience or maybe it has nothing to do with the band? Thanks for your input..
elcee 3,341 Posted August 27, 2012 Could it be a grumbling appendix?

lilbit182004 5 Posted August 28, 2012 Yes I had the same pain. I had to hold my stomach up when ever I walked. My dr. Thought it was a hernia as well and I also had a CT with contrast. Everything was normal. But you didn't mention how far post op you are. I am now 5 weeks post op and it has completely gone away. Once in a while depending on how I sit or move It comes back but only for a few seconds. I'm guessing your about 2 or 3 weeks out. Don't worry it will go away. Bamabander 111 Posted August 28, 2012 I am 13 weeks post op. Saw my surgeon today and he reviewed my CT and concurred all is normal. He believes that it is coming from nerve regeneration ( nerves that may have been cut during the surgery from incisions.) I did have some numbness at this spot before and he said it is usually 8-12 weeks before the begin to regenerate. He explained that the pain can last weeks to months and to not worry unless any new symptoms occur. I hope mine is "weeks" and not months!
