I'm A Bad Lapband Girl :(

Recommended Posts

For the past month i have gotten off track so bad... I haven't gained any weight but I haven't lost any either. I have not exercised or eaten the way I should.

Any encouraging words to help me get back on track would be greatly appreciated..

From the words of my grandma she said " you paid all that money and your not going to do a thing about it????"

That has really hit me hard and come Monday morning I am getting back on track and I am going to lose the weight I not only NEED to but what I want to lose to feel good.

Hope everyone has a good week and I love this site to come and read and see all of the encouraging things y'all post!!!!! :)

I have not had this procedure yet. So I really don't know how you feel but I do know it's hard to struggle day to day with weight problems. Just keep trying for yourself find a workout that's fun I love Zumba and hate the treadmill. You did all the hard work for a life change of Heath! start over in the morning. It's never to late to start over. Good Luck

It's not just everyday that is a new day, its every meal, every step, every bite, every breath! So girl, don't you waste anymore of your breath worried about what could have been, or how you should have done better. It's but a little blip on the radar! At the end of the day, we all have made mistakes, but the difference between success and failure is only a matter of perseverance! We all fail, only a few have the courage to keep going! You are SO worth every bit of health and happiness...Not because of any human right, but because you have EARNED IT! Life as an overweight person is not easy. We are looked past and chosen last, but not today! Choose to be the person you are destined to be and everything else will fall into place. Good days are ahead...I can't even promise that they'll outweigh the bad, but I can promise that it makes everything worthwhile!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
