207 Lbs Gone... 10 Lbs To Go

Recommended Posts

Good for you! What a journey! Did you ever go through a rough phase?

Not really.... the hardest part of all of it was the pre op diet in my opinion. I was on Optifst for 2 weeks.... not eating for 2 weeks did make me realize i only need to view food as fuel....

other than that I had one 3 week plateau which was frustrating ... it was about when I hit the 100 lbs loss mark... but looking back I didnt have any major obsticles.

That is amazing!!! If you can lose 200 lbs, surely I can lose 140. thanks for posting!

LOL its all relative.... I am tall and no one guessed me at 377... most would say... 250 / 275 mybe. I think its because I carry weight low.... my legs were tree trunks. But maxi skirts were my friend. LOL

My measurements were / are

Bust 46 now 34

Waist 43 now 29

Hips 77 now 38

so I still carry low....LOL Damn Genes

You look awesome can you give me ideas of what foods you ate like what is always on your grocery list and do you sometimes eat what your not supposed to eat ( junk food, fast food )?

thank you

I was a maniac about sticking to a diet.. This was a very drastic decision for me and I decided to do whatever it took to make this work. so I followed my Dr's orders and ate 1000 calories each day. I can tell you I can count on my fingers the number of times I "cheated" and even then it was a bite here and there.... the band wouldnt let me eat more than 1 cookie!! As for junk food... If you mean ice cream cake, chips, fast food.... none of it. My go to crave was peanut M&Ms... And I would limit myself to 2 when I needed a fix. Seriousy 2 was enough.

I stay away from all fried food. Here is an idea of a typical day

Bfast - sugar free carnation instant Breakfast ( early food is hard for me)

morning snack - banana or 90 calories Fiber bar

lunch - 3-4 oz tun mixed with fat free dressing, lettuce, onion, tomatoes / 6 wheat thins / sugar free pudding cup

afternoon snack - v8 juice

dinner - 4 oz fish, chicken, pork or beef / 1/2 baked potato or wheat Pasta / 1/2 cup of veggies

nightime snack - sugar free popsicle

hope this helps

He told me it would take 2 1/2 yrs and I am at 22 months.... so I think he is very happy for me. :) Back in April he said I could come in every other month instead of once a month... I paniced and thought I would gain it all back for some silly reason. Of course I didnt and now its every 3 months... but I miss him!

You are kind. I feel like if I can do this anyone should be able to. Seriously its not rocket science.... you just need to want to more than anything else in your life. My husband even thinks my journey knocked him down a notch because I am so focused! Of course its the first time in more years than I can count that I have done something for me. ANd I would like to think my family will reap the rewards of having me around a bit longer. B)

Are u ever hungry? I want to know if hunger is there while you are controlling your portions or is the band controlling hunger

From my experience, I'm always having cravings to eat. I always want to eat whatever delicious plate I see but my fills won't allow me to eat a full plate of food. Not even two bites. I feel so gassy & uncomfortable, I just don't bother trying to eat. Seems like when people get that gassy uncomfortable feeling. Means the band is on too tight. Overall my cravings are still the same, just lapband is in the way.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
