Will I ever feel full?

Recommended Posts

Hi! I am new here. I was banded on 1/27/06. I had my first fill on 3/8/06. I have a 10cc band with 4cc fill. I have not had any problems to date but I still takes a lot for me to fill full. I have scheduled another fill for 4/4/06. I know everyone is different but can anyone with a 10cc band tell me about their expericence? I wondering if I will ever fill full. I started at 256 and I'm down to 238. It is a struggle because I get so hungry from one meal to the next and I do eat Protein.< /p>

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

I suggest you keep up with the Water and water type drinks, my dr. wants me to drink a gallon a day. Also try the pork rinds.:hungry:

Most people don't experience much restriction with their first fill. My hubby has the larger band like you do and he is in the same boat. He needs another fill, but he is getting ready to leave for India for 3 weeks and wants to wait until he gets back.

Best of luck to ya!

I also have a 10 cc band and have had 2 fills now (banded 1/9/06) I am also in the same boat. I have a appt. scheduled for th 30th. So far I've just heard it's harder to hit the sweet spot with the bigger bands?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
