The last time I was weighed at my doctor's office I was 316. I didn't want to weigh myself at home because I think my scale is off however I got on the scale a few minutes ago and I weighed 313.8. I'll take that idk if it's just my morning weight or what.

good for u! I'm a scale addict. i get so obsessed with the numbers :-( i need to focus on how i feel and not on how close (or not close) to my "goal" weight i am. i recently threw my scale away. instead im going to allow Myself 3 times a week to weigh myself with wii fit...but only to see my bmi and the fluctuation in my weight. I'm hoping this will keep me from weighing myself up to 5 times a day like i have been know to do:-)

I am a scale addict as well. Every morning and every night. When I travel it drives me crazy not to be able to weigh in. I think it actually helps me lose!!

Many say once a week is fine... And it is but not weighing myself for many years allowed me to Balloon to 377 lbs. since I never plan on seeing that number again I will continue my love affair with my scale.< /p>

Thank you! I was weighing myself everyday and I would get depressed because I wasn't seeing the results I wanted. I started eating 4oz meals and doing what I'm suppose to do. All I have to do is start exercising. I have UFC trainer for Xbox Kinect and I want to get Zumba as well.

The BEST way to align your scale with your doctors is to weigh yourself at the same time and wearing the same clothes you wore at the visit...either right before you go to the doctor or after you get home. Keep in mind clothes can weigh 2-3 pounds and you will "normally' weigh less in the morning because you are "empty"...

Also try to remember that if you are exercising a lot, particularly with weights, that you may be getting smaller and the scale will not reflect that; "muscle weighs more than fat"...

If you really want a good gauge to judge how you are doing begin measuring yourself now and re-measure the same time every week or month and keep a log. The scale can either be your best friend or worst enemy but it isn't the only tool you should use to measure your journey. Best of luck to you! (Oh and if you turn into a "scale *****" - which I have a on again off again relationship myself, make sure you have a good one)...

I'm a scale addict too - every single morning without clothes after using restroom first thing before eating/drinking anything at all. Keep in mind - I've noticed the same patterns over and over every month - ramping up to period, during period, alcohol, salt - these all affect my weight very predictably. I can fluctate anywhere from 1 to 5-6 pounds throughout the month - depending on the circumstance - often no relation to what i'm actually eating. However, if I only weighed once a month I would see a drop every month - in the 10 pound range since starting (slowing down now as expected). Despite knowing about the fluctations I still have bad and good days mentally as a result of the daily scale number - i can't help it (although I am way less sad/frustrated when it's higher because I know eventually it will go back down and monthly I always lose every single time).

I weigh in only at my monthly checkup' date=' I'm less stressed this way since I hate scales. Goodluck.[/quote']

I feel u i didnt want to get on the scale but i was curious because i havent really ate much since my doctors appointment on Wednesday. I want to only get weighed when i go to the doctors office because their scale is really accurate. I go back to the doctor on September 26th and i want to reach my first goal weight by then which is 299.

I have alot of support from my friends and they keep pushing me to do while, but i started to notice that my family has been very discouraging so im on a mission to prove them wrong.

Getting obsessed with one's scale does contribute to unnecessary negative feelings imposed on oneself...depending on what the almighty scale says.

Trying not to weigh yourself everyday is healthier...and your mood doesn't need to reflect any negative thoughts of no progress or even a small weight gain.

Small fluctuations in weight are normal, and if you can accept them for what they are that's great. I've read too many posts from individuals lamenting about their lack of progress or weight gain when it was only a small fluctuation and not indicative of a trend.

Other's mileage may vary...I just feel it's important for one'e emotional health and well being to stay on the positive side of thinking.

scale addict as well.

There are other ways to tell though.

Mwasure yourself as well as seeing if your clothes feel looser.

Great advice but sooooo hard to follow when all you want to see is the damn scale go down.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
