Hi everyone. My name is Kate. I am new to the forum. I was banded on 8/15/2012. I originally looked into lapband in October of last year weighing at 254 for my initial consultation. My insurance required a 6 month waiting period. At the time of my pre-op appointment I was at 237 and yesterday at my first post op appt I was 210. The surgery went fine and I was up doing housework the next morning and returned to work the Monday following the surgery. I look forward to insights and suggeations from forum members and I am excited to be on the path to a healthier life.

Welcome !!

Take it one day at a time... ask lots of questions. Listen to your doctor. Make sure review all the material you were given (sample menus, portions, etc.).

The band is different with each person. Don't go into this journey saying I'll ever be able to eat this or that ever again.

I can eat anything except rice or apple skins... and NO carbonated beverages.
