Can I Damage My Port???

Can I damage my port by sleeping on my left side. It is very uncomfy, so I dont start off that way. However, I am usually woke by discomfort and finding that I have rolled over onto my left side. Something I have wondered for the past year, just never asked.

I woke this morning with a small bruise at my port sight.

So....what do you think?

That's a good question. I too get a soreness and pulling most of the time I lay on my left side. It scares me, so I only sleep on my stomach or right side. I am almost 4 months out so hope this discomfort goes away at some point.

I have soreness sometimes at my port site too, but never anything that caused a bruise.

I had soreness for a couple of months, but after that it went away.

You might want to ask your surgeon at your next visit.

I only had soreness for a few days after surgery.

My port is right out there where you can see it sticking out but I do not have any problems sleeping on it.

I would ask your doctor about it.

I seriously doubt that you could damage your port from sleeping on that side otherwise there would be plenty of posts/threads about just that on this forum.

It may be uncomfortable but that would be all.
