the best me 6 Posted March 22, 2006 Sometimes we forget what a "real" portion size is. I know you were freaked out because you ate an egg and a piece of toast. An egg has about 70 calories, and a piece of toast, depending on the size of bread of course, has about 45 calories. Butter and jam add to the calories of course. So, if you have an egg, a piece of toast with a little butter, your meal will be under 200 calories, and a typical meal, assuming you are sticking to 1200 calories, should be at least 300 calories. We get this weird idea that we should be satisfied eating a few tablespoons of food for an entire meal, when in reality that rediculous for bandsters, unless they are super tight. YES! Check out www.room42.com they have a program where you type in your height/weight/etc. and they will tell you how many calories/carbs/fats/protiens etc you should be eating to lose however much per week. I haven't been there in a while but it's interesting and helpful to see. A TBS of peaunut butter is not a snack.< /p> A TBS of peaunut butter and a half a banana IS a snack. 3 TBS of Peanut Butter, a whole banana, a bowl of Cereal with milk, and some cottage cheese was a snack on a diet pre-band. I find I need to get REAL about food and it's place in my life. Perspective helps. And LBT is pretty cool, too.
