RahRahRah 22 Posted August 23, 2012 Im not sure if youre asking if it would be a problem or bad for diet? To be honest, there were a couple of days that chewing gum helped me get rid of the desire to "chew" something in the early days. The bad part is that I think that some of the fake sugars used in sugar free can cause bloating. But im not sure. I chew gum now and im almost 4 months post op. Lapbandster 496 Posted August 23, 2012 I haven't heard negative (yet) about chewing gum, and have chewed a bit following surgery. but I'll ask my surgeon tomorrow when i see him
jennifer1 180 Posted August 23, 2012 Some people have horror stories of people swallowing gum and ending up in the emergency room..REALLY! If something is stuck like that i'm sure you could throw it back up...not advocating vomiting..ijs...lol..I chew guma nd I have been banded over a year and I have yet to swallow it..lol

lalaj 108 Posted August 24, 2012 I chew gum from time to time. I think it's ok as long as you don't swallow it.
