Kime-lou 648 Posted August 23, 2012 A fill is a simple procedure and quick. There are two ways they are done with and without floro. If you do not have floro your Doctor will take a small needle and stick it through your skin in to your port (most give you a little bit of pain killer before hand), most will pull back some Fluid to make sure they are in and then they will add that Fluid back, plus some. If you have floro, you will stand infront or sit in front of a machine that you will be able to see your port and band. They will stick you and push fluid in and then have you sip some odd tasting white stuff and they will watch it get to the band and go through, if it goes to slowly or you have reflux they remove a little of what they put it, if it goes through fast they add a little more and have you sip a little more. Normally take 5 min and you are done. Little to no pain. 1 TriciaLN reacted to this
nikkib999 13 Posted August 23, 2012 That's good to know. I'm sitting in the office now waiting for 1st fill. Just finished upper gi. I know I just had major surgery, so weird that I feel just as nervous for this piece also. 1st time jitters probably

nikkib999 13 Posted August 23, 2012 Ok I got my 1st fill, & it wasn't as bad as I thought at all. I made it much worse in my head. Very positive experience, glad to be on this long path of success. It feels good!
