This is a question for bandsters that have reached the green zone. I am in early stage of starting my band journey so i am doing a lot of research. One thing i cannot wrap my head around is the meal size of 1 cup. Doctors say that when u have reached the green zone 1 cup of food, when chewed and swallowed properly will make you feel satisfied and full. Can u guys confirm this and tell me if its true or it is exagurated? I just cannot imagine myself feeling satisfied with 1 cup of food with any kind of WLS. I need assurance. Thank u in advance!

I am very much in the Green Zone and definitely satisfied with a cup or less of food.

It is important to note that full is not the same as satisfied, and the band is not supposed to make you feel full. Satisfied simply means no longer physically hungry. This is what the band does, helps you to feel satisfied with less food for longer periods of time.

Much smaller meals of a cup by volume is not a myth or an exaggeration...that's what a bandster meal consists of.

If you are in your "zone" that amount should keep you from getting hungry for at least 4 hours between meals.

well, until you are actually banded, anyone telling you they are full on 1 cup or less, will seem like a yeah right type of thing. but it is true. 3/4 to 1 cup of something am i am DONE. crazy as i was the leader of the pack for 2nd and 3rd plate fill ups.

you need to get into the mental right frame. the band will make you feel full on less food. (and overeating can make you feel sick etc)....so its up to you to make the right decisions to eat better and healthier stuff for you. listen to mis and sojo.....they are successful banders.

I'm also at the point where I don't want to eat more than 1 cup of most things, I'm just done with the last few bites.

I can still snack with the best of them though, if I don't monitor myself.

My biggest problem is learning how eat slow and chew my food longer because i am used to inhaling food and never knowing when its enough.

I am trying to keep this surgery a secret so social eating is not going to be fun. Gotta do what u gotta do!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
