What Was Your Post Op Liquid Diet Like?

Recommended Posts

Was banded Saturday, so this is day 4 for me. I haven't been hungry at all up until this afternoon. My dr said liquids for two full weeks. But that means no yogurt, apple sauce, pudding or Jello either. I'm sure broccoli Soup is a no no if it's not strained too, that's what I am craving. how long did everyone else have to do liquids before the mushy stage? What did it consist of?

I was banded Friday and got to start full liquids after 48 hours which includes thinned yogurt, Soups, etc... 4 ounces at a time taking 15-20 minutes to eat.

I was on 48 hours of clear liquids and then I have to do 2 weeks of full liquids, strainable items, so no yogurt or puddings for me either. I then get to move on to puree type of liquids after two weeks. It is longer than others on here but my Dr. feels that this is best so it is what I'm going to do. Every doctor is so different which can be confusing to me but I will do whatever they say at this point!

Good luck getting through this time, I am right there with you ( 5 days post op for me)!!

WOW,

My doc has one rule: I can eat anything that can be sipped through a straw.

This is for one week

Its so difficult for me because i find myself eating and drinking really really fatty foods because I'm SO HUNGRY!
