Almost 2 Weeks & Not Full

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I was banded on 8/9 and have been on mushies for almost a week, but it seems like I'm not getting as full as I was at first. I ate 6 oz of chili for lunch and am still hungry. Do you think this will be likely to go away once I get the first fill?

Thanks!

Yes and no

It takes more than 1 fill to feel full on a little. Each fill gets you closer. Are you sure it isn't head hunger?? Also after you eat the 6 oz you can wait a while and see if your still hungry. Have patience your body is still healing and getting used to the new you.

Good luck

I hate to be the bearer or bad news but, unless you're one of the lucky few, you won't feel any restriction after the first fill. It took me 3 fills before I felt anything and I could still eat two cups without any stuck episodes or PBing. I'm currently on fill 4 and actually get full after 1& 1/2 cups. Hopefully the next fill will get me into the green zone. Just hang in there! It won't be overnight but, it will come.

Like the others have said...Just hang in there! It takes a few times before things get to the "green zone"..For me I always fall back outta green at right about 6 weeks and my tummy said Feed me Please!

Its worth everything you have done to this point and will be worth every struggle you face going forward! think Positive!

Good Luck!

I have to agree. You probably wont feel much restriction after your first fill. It also took me 33 fills (about 5 mths) before I felt restriction. I lost maybe 4 lbs during that time. I didn't measure my food or count calories and I ate just as much as before my band. The 3rd one did the trick for me tho. The lbs startingmelting off..

Good luck

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
