Guest Tina Posted February 25, 2004 Hi, Some of you might remember me, I'm the one struggling with the decision of what Dr. to choose. If I will be the 1st Lap band patient. I did find out that the Dr. would have a proctor with him. Or if I go the other route I drive 7hrs. for a fill. Is anyone going this far? Do you stay a few days? Is it a big hassle to get there? Have you ever had to turn right back around to get some taken out? I'm still wondering if the 1st Dr. really believes in the band. He thinks it is a durable surgery, however the patient has to be very rigorous with their food consumption. In essence, he thinks the surgery is easier to "beat" than the gastric bypass. He said he wants the patient to be well informed. I don't know. Maybe I didn't get a good first impression. ok I just rambled on and on again. You are all so kind and thanks again. GeezerSue 7 Posted February 25, 2004 Most of the time, I travel about three or four hours (each way) to the "close" fills. Once I flew about five hours, each way. Plus an hour on the ground to and from the airport, each way. But I'm retired.
