NSV - I'm a slob!

Recommended Posts

How many years have I wanted to drop food on myself and have it actually land on something other than my boobs!?!

I was just eating some roast beef and applesauce for lunch. I looked down with disgust when I noticed that I had been a slob and dripped it down my front. Then it hit me! It went all the way down my front! LOL How crazy is this? I'm excited that I'm a slob that can actually get the food all the way down my shirt instead of just on my boobs. w00t!

Next goal? Nothin' but lap baby! *looks down* Hm.. I know there's one down there somewhere.

Congratulations on your NSV! I too know how good this accomplishment feels. I am also a fellow slob when it comes to eating. My husband can't help but smile everytime I spill something because he know it's only a matter of time. I'm a sucker for the dipping sauces:)

P-Nut, I'll say congratulations because you seem so terribly excited about this. But am I to understand you're excited that your "girls" are shrinking?

Just kidding. I know, you're whole body's shrinking with them. Congrats!! :(:Banane20::eek:

Congratulations! I too am a SERIOUS slob. Most of my friends describe me as "a spilly one." That's gotta feel great to have your first NSV. I haven't even had a SV yet but hopefully I'll be hot on your tracks! Congrats!

Hey same thing happened to me last week. DH & I were having lunch and I dribbled Soup. It landed on my hand which was resting on the table. DH announced "Honey it hit you hand, not your boobs!" He was so excited for me it was cute. Then he got this pathetic look on his face and said "this is very bad news" :( ...........I for one am actually happy the girls are shrinking -- enough is enough!

Great NSV P'nut!!!! My boobs have gone down SOME, but not enough. They are still terribly big. I have to share a "compliment" my husband gave me yesterday. It didn't come across as a compliment at the time...

I had on a different shirt that I hadn't worn in a long time. It was fitting rather TIGHT on my bust line. My husband came home from work & said - "Wow!! You are looking.........EXTRA-ORDINARILY huge today!!" I had no idea he was talking about my girls. I thought he was talking about ME & my body. Now, to tell a woman who has just lost 54 lbs that she looks extraordinaly HUGE was not what I was lookin' for. I must have givin' him "the evil look" & he immediately had to backtrack & stammered. He was in EXTRAORDINARLY HUGE trouble that day. :angry But, I got over it & realized he was TRYING to compliment me.

So, in other words, food is still dripping on my girls. I am envious P'nut!!!

Thanks everyone! I knew you'd understand. And yup, Ddiedre, I am thrilled that my girls are shrinking! Maybe all of the reductions pics I've been looking at online scared them into submission! hehe

Chatterbutter - NSV means non scale victory. A benefit of your bandedness other than a scale reading. Neat huh? And this wasn't my first. They are coming so quickly now that I can't even remember my first. Here's a few more that happened over this last weekend:

1. I put my sunglasses on and they were so loose I thought they were broken.

2. I had to raise the seat in the car. Since my butt and legs are shrinking, I was "shorter" in the seat!

3. I can wraps my arms around my husband and link my fingers together - completely!

4. I have gone from a size 26 pants to a 20 in jeans, and 18/20s in what I call soft pants - elastic waist, soft t-shirt type material. Um, yeah, I bought these 18/20s last week or the week before, and they are literally falling off of me! Woohoo!

Diane - you are extraordinarily, hugely wonderful and I love ya! *hugs*

All the rest of you slobs - Here's to food stains on our pants and not on our shirts! LOL

The girls are... shrinking... and that's a... NSV? :(

Congratulations! My mother's genes I did not get. She's a DD, and I refer to her girls as "the shelf", because they catch everything she drops. She doesn't leave home with her Tide2Go pen!

Great NSV, P'Nut!! :clap2:

Wheetsin, I used to call mine "the shelf" as well. They used to be 42DD and have gone down to a 40D. Still somewhat of a shelf but I'm hoping they don't shrink anymore. I'm rather fond of them.

I eagerly await the day when the food that I drop on a regular basis goes all the way down my shirt instead of resting on my boobs (no, seriously! I am!)

Congratulations on this awesome NSV!

Wheetsin, when I was breast feeing my Spudboy, my girls were a MM cup, and that doesn't stand for yuMMy. Having the girls shrink is an excellent victory for some of us.

Congrats P'nut, I too hope some day to have that sort of NSV.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
