ontherighttrack 13 Posted August 14, 2012 So I have a new doctor and got a fill with him a month ago and it was my first time getting much restriction. Not quite enough but a great start. I go in a couple days for an appt and I'm nervous about what he expects. I'm down about 7 pounds in the 4 weeks which I feel is decent. I was aiming for 10 but I know 7 is within a good range. But I'm nervous about what my doctor is expecting. Does your doctor set a weekly or monthly goal?

running_scared 125 Posted August 14, 2012 My doctor likes to see the 1-2 pounds a week as well.
Theresa13 14 Posted August 14, 2012 I think you did great. Hold up a 5 pound bag of flour or sugar, it will help you realize how much a 7 pound loss is a great achievment!
Skyvic 226 Posted August 14, 2012 Want to add that it's not always going to be weekly losses. You may get out of your green zone and have struggles. That is what we call life:) just listen to your body. At times I hesitated to get my fills ( not always the greatest idea). But overall I'm still doing well with my loss. jen_1381 446 Posted August 14, 2012 My surgeon seems to be pretty lenient. He said that 1 lb over 7-10 days is what he considers successful. I was dreading going in for my fill yesterday because I had a little weekend get-away and gained 6 lbs of Water weight. I try to lose 10 lbs between each fill and was at a 12 lb loss. When I weighed at the office, I was sitting right at an 8 lb loss. I was nervous that wouldn't be good enough, but he said I was still doing fantastic and just try to watch portions. This morning, I was back down to my original pre-weekend weight. Lesson learned - - don't go to your doctor the day after vacation!! 1 LouisianaLiLi reacted to this

Fantasy 104 Posted August 14, 2012 The doctors have thier rules and expectatons. These are good guidelines. However, our bodies and our minds and emotions bounce to a different tune. I never got worked up over what my doctor expected. As long as I was following the rules as best as I could. I didn't expect to be good all the time as I sure wasn't before the surgery (this wasn't going to change overnight). I figured I would never be perfect, but I would do the best I could most of the time. So I didn't put too much pressure on myself. I did what worked for me physically, emotionally and my everday way of living. It was a slow process. My doctor soon realized I was slow but successful. Now seven years later I am one of his most successful patiients. 1 lappyloo reacted to this
