toad_allyinlove 1 Posted August 14, 2012 My husband and I are getting new insurance next month and I was wondering does it matter if we choose a *** or a ppo ? Also can they deny for the reason of being a preexisting condition ?
Wtloss 75 Posted August 14, 2012 Call and check each benefit. My insurance changed recently and my employer selected a plan that doesn't cover any weight loss surgery. Now my fills will not be covered. Select carefully. Do your homework
toad_allyinlove 1 Posted August 14, 2012 Can I call the insurance company before we choose and ask those questions. My husbands work is not very informational.
Wtloss 75 Posted August 14, 2012 Yes. Your HR department should provide you a phone number and contact person to call for questions. You should also have a booklet or web page to go to to verify benefits.
A New New Dawn 1,695 Posted August 14, 2012 Definitely call the insurance and they can tell you ahead of time or at least give you an idea. Also, the "pre-existing" conditions may aid in your favor to get approved if they cover the procedures. Typically, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, etc. help get approved quicker. As the surgery will ideally correct those issues that could be life threatening.
