7 Weeks Pregnant And So Nervous

Recommended Posts

I've had two miscarriages in the last two years. My husband and I decided to wait until I was at a much lower weight to try again but we had an unexpected surprise when my period never came.

I'm so scared and have cried my eyes out I dont think I can mentally handle another miscarriage. I know I need to stay positive but at this point all I can think is how long till this one is taken away from me :(.

I've lost around 45 lbs since the last one I hope it helps. Doc appointment is August 28th I hope things are diffrent this time.

Make sure Dr keeps an eye on your Progesterone level. I don't know why but some Drs let women have multiple miscarriages when a simple blood test and a rx can stop it.

You will be in my thoughts & prayers!

Keep good thoughts and I'm sure the weight loss made a big difference. We have been trying to have a baby for 16 years with no luck. I can't imagine losing 2 a long the way. You have amazing strength and will make it through whatever happens this time. I'm hoping the weight loss will do the same for me.

I understand, I had 3 miscarriages in a year. I am terrified to look at a pregnancy test. Not sure I will ever have one.

I will definatley look into the progesterone. I had someone else tell me that could be my problem.

So sorry for those of you who have also miscarried its a heartbreaking situation that never truly leaves your thoughts

I forgot to tell you congratulations!

My daughter had 2 miscarriages and it wasn't until she did the research and made Dr check it and found out her progesterone level was dropping.

I get so anger that a Dr allows a women to go through such a painful experience, when it could be avoided.

Good luck and Congrats!! I had a lot of heart break in the 17 years of trying. Im about 38 weeks now and freaked out everyday. I still get scared now but Im also sad I spend my entire pregnancy scared and not fully enjoying the experience. Its tough but enjoy it!

It got pushed back to Thursday :( but I had a small amount of brown spotting and got nervous so I went to the ER and all my hormone levels are good my cervix is closed and I saw the baby and its hearbeat:) so pretty happy at this point but still very nervous. Also I'm only 6.5 weeks along my due date predictor was wrong because my periods aren't standard every 26 days like most girls its about every 36.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
