So does anyone have any tips for taking meds(maintenance meds) the capsules seem to be the hardest, I think because they seem to fill so heavy going down & for awhile after. I've tried crushing & emptying the capsules into Jello, pudding, hot & cold liquids, mashed potatoes & my list is growing.

So does anyone have any ideas.

Help cause stopping the meds are not a option.

What meds? They only gave me a dissolvable multi that you add to Water. What else do you need?

I have some preexisting problems like neuropathy, severe back issues, & depression/anxiety to name just a few. Some meds that are life long meds too, so it's not like I cant. just stop taking them. 20 days post op & not able to get all of my meds down to benefit me. My husband is on me to take them but it's difficult.

HELP. I need some suggestions.

You probably have little or no fill at this stage. Just swallow with a big gulp of Water , they should go down fine.

No I know what you mean. I take 3 huge lithium tablets in the morning, 2 at night. My tip is to have one, wait a few minutes. You really have to treat it like food.

Lithium is for life. It's hard to swallow them now but not taking them is worse!

For my Prevacid capsule, I take a spoon and put a little applesauce on it, pour the contents of the capsule on the applesauce, then put a little more applesauce on top and swallow it fast...kinda a pain in the butt but it works for me! The granules don't scatter in my mouth and I dont taste it.

I have neuropathy and my doct else switched my large yellow pills to very tiny white ones.

Ask your doctor if there are any substitutes for your current meds that are smaller in size. I had several of mine done that way.

My depression med was the hardest to find a substitute. But we finally got to Pristiq and it works wonders for me. And goes down fine.

Candtwalker,

Do you know the name of the med for neuropathy. I'm willing to change to anything smaller.

It is Lamotrigine 25mg. I take 4 per day and they are very very tiny. My doctor said it is primarily used for seizures but is effective for neuropathy as well.
