Mlissa55 0 Posted August 13, 2012 Has anyone else had the problem of their hair falling out after surgery? Not sure if itsdue to Vitamin deficiency or not. Any suggestions?
Luv2sing920@aol.com 14 Posted August 13, 2012 This is happening to me too! I was banded may 1. ESP when I wash it, comes out in clumps! My nutrionist said it is normal!
ballajones 61 Posted August 13, 2012 I was banded feb 1 and my Hair loss is barely slowing down ???”. I take Biotin and a prenatal Vitamin. I've read hair loss is due to not getting enough Protein or Iron. I also started using tresemme Shampoo that's meant for hair loss. I've tried it all!! Hopefully it gets better for you. Mine caused a bit of depression after months of clogging my shower. It gets better and think of the big picture. Hair grows back. I'm thankful I'm getting to be a healthier me. mdgarcia31665 0 Posted August 13, 2012 yes, it is normal and it is because of poor Protein intake. Biotin is the way to go, and of course take your vitamines and Protein Bars and shakes. It will grow back...
Lapbandster 496 Posted August 14, 2012 My suggestions: 1) Eat lots of Protein 2) Take Biotin (I take 2500 mg) 3) Take a once a day Vitamin (in case u have a deficency)
Anglkrys2 24 Posted August 16, 2012 Hate to tell u but I'm getting the right amount of Protein, Vitamins, etc and it's still falling out!!! I've cried in the shower many times. My doctor says its normal and just a side effect from the surgery! He promised that it tapers off between 4-6 months! It better!!! Cause I'm freaking out too!!!! NC Mama 23 Posted August 16, 2012 I was experiencing significant hair loss as well. I am now 6 months post op and my Hair loss has slowed down dramatically. I do not think the hair loss is really due to Protein intake or Vitamin deficiency because I was getting much more Protein when I was loosing a lot of hair (months 2-4 post op). Now I am in the green zone and am loosing weight much faster than I was then, and eating less (so less protein by default), but the hair loss is back to normal. I only take a regular Multi-Vitamin as my doctor really did not feel it was tied to nutritional deficit. I hope this helps!
