14Cc Band And Now The Band Is Too Big For Me.. :(

Recommended Posts

Had my surgery 6 months ago, lost 44 pounds so far, last Friday went back to True Results to get a fill, I finally have 10 1/4cc in my band, but still don't feel i'm in the green zone, talking to my doctor about it, she mention that she has seeing a trend on people with 14cc bands having a hard time getting in to the green zone because the band is too big for us. It will take more Fluid to take me in to the green zone, i have an appointment next thursday to get an ultrasound to see if they are going to be able to make the band work for me by just putting fr fluids in to it or she is actually considering removing this band and putting a 10cc band on me.. This is depressing for me, I have been working so hard to loose the weight and now come to find out that the band my be replace meaning other surgery again.. Know I'm just thinking if they did it for insurance purpose, if they actually knew this was going to happened and because they know that my insurance has approved every charge, know they're just doing it to get more money from the insurance... Don't know what to do...

It doesn't really matter what size band you have you should get to the green zone at some point. Is this a Realise band that you have? I ask because typically people with that type of band seem to need a lot more fill than those with a lap band. It's got something to do with the low pressure design.

You have to wonder why she didn't give you a 10cc band in the first place.

If yours is a Realize band, it's my understanding that its advantage is a greater range of fill levels. You still are nowhere near the maximum fill level, and the band can be filled beyond its official capacity if necessary, so I think it's too soon to give up on your 14cc band.

Realize bands are 11 ccs and only come in one size.

I stand corrected.

Is the 9 cc Realize band no longer used?

I have a 9 cc Realize Band. I was banded on 4/3/12. I finally hit the green zone at 8 cc's.

I also have a 14 cc band and just had my third fill I'm at 10cc, just had it done on Thursday, so I hope for some restriction.

I have 10 1/4cc on my 14cc band and I'm finally filling something, so hopefully I will just need a little more Fluid to get me to the green zone and I won't need another surgery to replace my band...

Keep in mind that fills are different for everyone. Don't get a fill because you are not losing weight. Get a fill if you are eating a cup of food with 3 oz being Protein and you don't feel full/satisfied for a couple hours (say 3-4). You also need to be tracking your food intake to really see what you are eating and how many calories you are burning. Personally, if I exercised three times a week, I don't think I would lose anything. I exercise an hour every day. When you find your rhythm, it will work for you. Intake and exercise is different for everyone too as all of our capabilities are different physically. Always talk to your NUT and surgeon about what you are eating and what type of exercise you are doing as they will guide you the right way!
