Lu_11 52 Posted August 12, 2012 I know after a fill the 2 days of liquids and then a day of mushy. But what about before a fill?? My paperwork says nothing for a few hours before ... it there a type of food to avoid the day of a fill? My fill is on Monday and I am going out of town camping that Friday. I have read to stay where you can get medical attention for 2 weeks after a fill... should I reschedule my fill?? I can't believe I am a year on this journey and still have so many questions. suzbuni 32 Posted August 12, 2012 I was never told anything special before a fill. By Friday you should be good. Don't try anything too big or hard to chew on your trip. I would pack a few Protein Shakes just in case. I went overnight weekend camping after my second fill ( fill ob wednesday- canping on saturday) with my daughters brownies troop. I packed a few premade shakes and some Protein Powder. I drink them if I thought I might have trouble with the camping meal. I also had a cooler with Greek yogurt and hummus. I did ok. It was easier for my to stick to liquids and soft foods then worry about getting stuck in the woods. I made it thru weekends no problem. No one even realized I was having my Protein shakes in my sports bottle. Good luck. Just be prepared and you will be fine.
sHeLLaBee 130 Posted August 12, 2012 There aren't any requirements for my days before my fill. I usually only do a Protein Shake in the morning because I get weighed before my fill and I want it to be low. I then have to be on liquids for 24 hours and then back to normal. As long as you are good within 48 hours and can eat ok, I can't imagine you wouldn't be ok after that. Your trip will be fine. Just take precautions.
jennifer1 180 Posted August 12, 2012 I'm not allowed solid foods 4 hours before a fill..as far as being close to a doc after a fill...that is a must for me..EVERYTIME I have gotten a fill I have had to go back in for at least 2 unfills within the first 2 weeks.
