shortishelli 14 Posted August 11, 2012 After 2 large fills and No difference, I had a 3rd fill a couple weeks ago and started feeling like I actually have lap band! Took a large bite of a Breakfast taco with potatoes, chewed fast, and swallowed.. and holy crap! I started patting my chest for it to go down, then swallowed really hard and it was STUCK! I was going 70 on the freeway so I couldnt just throw it up, so I drank my Snapple and swallowed hard each time and it finally went down, but my whole body was shaking from being in panic mode. It sounds weird, but I was relieved to have an episode because I was so discouraged before after 3 months of not losing much weight. Now, I'm down 5 lbs since my 3rd fill 2 or 2.5 weeks ago. I have another fill on the 22nd and I'm excited! 3 gtdixon, missmudd and kah1213 reacted to this
YngGram 73 Posted August 11, 2012 Remember the object isn't to get stuck. I only recently got restriction, but I had more issues with getting stuck when I didn't. Now I chew smaller bits and I eat slower. In doing this I know when I have had enough and I haven't had any problems. This is great because I am eating less and I feel like I should have a meal. Congrats on the restriction, but think when you eat so you don't do any harm. 2 Heathermarie0407 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted August 11, 2012 Why are you taking large bites and eating potatoes? The expression stuck is because what you just ate can not go from your small stomach through the band area into the large stomach. Drinking will/can only make it worse. Be careful you should not force the food down it should really come back up. Maybe you should review your information received from your doctors office so you don't harm yourself.......good luck 3 ☠carolinagirl☠, GermaineF and mypearson reacted to this
scorrea 95 Posted August 11, 2012 I honestly get why you were happy about this. I would follow what everyone else here has said though, its not anything to take lightly and I dont think you are. I think you are just saying it finally is working. If you had no restriction, you wouldnt have gotten stuck. You are just happy to be at that point. I am glad you are happy, but from now on, chew chew chew!
Skyvic 226 Posted August 12, 2012 Yep I've learned the hard way a few times. Keep your band safe by following those golden rules to take small bites, chew chew chew, make hearty choices, no drinking 30 min before or after a meal, and do your best not to get stuck. Throwing up can be a bad thing but I understand it happens that sliming panic occurrence! I have realized our band is a tool to help change our bodies. saritin81 12 Posted August 12, 2012 I'm so glad I read this because I feel the same way. I'm 6 weeks in and can eat like normal even after my first fill. I hope to notice a difference soon. I feel bad about it. If it were that easy to make the right choices or limit what you eat then none of us would be in this forum. You are my silver lining in this gray cloud. Good luck to all of us. 4 missmudd, bgail1217, cheryllm63 and 1 other reacted to this
speekrn 3 Posted August 13, 2012 I am glad I read this too. I feel like I can eat normal. They tell you how much your stomach should be able to hold, but I know I can hold a lot more without ANY problems! Then I feel quilty about how much I ate. I go this week, hopefully I will get a fill. Last month Dr. Said I was doing good and wouldn't give me a fill, he will be disappointed this time. Thanks for the info! I wish I had a reset button for my brain!
Jean McMillan 2,973 Posted August 13, 2012 I sure hope you were being sarcastic when you said that stuck episode made you happy, because judging restriction by the number of eating problems you have is a really bad idea. I've seen too many bandsters who rejoiced at frequent eating problems later cry very big tears when they learned that careless eating or a too-tight band had caused a band slip. Don't go looking for trouble! 6 Jim1967, kll724, Maddysgram and 3 others reacted to this

Should have guessed that this was a fake because if you are really stuck and driving 70 miles per hour, you will not be able to stop the slime and upchucking!!!!You may be faking but if not you are not doing yourself any good by eating Breakfast tacos in the car and drinking a Snapple! Best wishes for your future, tho'!!!! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
