Cool Jessica. So how are you doing? Much pain? My pain is in the port area and my diaphragm area, I'm thinking because my doctor also repaired a hiatal hernia, the upper pain is a little worse. All in all I think I am doing well!! Going to take it easy, with increased walking, and go back to work on Tuesday.

I am having my ups and downs. The day of surgery was just awful. It was excruciating trying to get anything down except for Water. Day two I woke up feeling okay, but then the 2 hour drive home just really made me sore and uncomfortable, so the rest of the afternoon o could barely move. Today I woke up feeling good, but I skipped a dose of pain meds and I took a shower, which took a lot out of me. I mostly have pain in my sides and pressure in my diaphragm. And my tummy is itchy lol, which is just annoying. I'm having no problems getting my liquids down though, I've been doing chicken broth, Luke warm, with unflavored Protein powder, and then also my chocolate Protein with milk/water.

How much walking are you doing? If I'm awake, I'll walk like 10 minutes every hour.

Probably not enough walking. I try to get up and move every hour or so, and then just walk around the inside of the house. I wasn't kept overnight, so that was good. We live about an hour from the hospital but I dont remember much of the ride home. We just have to get through this initial healing process and then we'll be good to go!! Take care and get plenty of rest and liquids!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
