Twitching Muscle At Port?

Recommended Posts

Had another fill on Wednesday and now I periodically feel like the muscle at/under/around my port is twitching. I've never felt this before! Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this? Should I be worried? Call doc?

Yes I have had this feeling! I think the stomach muscles are tightened from the adjustment (guessing) and getting used to the change. That's why we do full liquids for some time for stomach to get situated. I think also that's why I have some restriction issues for the first two weeks after fill. Our bodies have to get used to the fill. I think also our eating habits like chewing and smaller bites. I've had to really practice that. But, I have had twitches after a fill.

So happy to hear that someone else has experienced this! I was getting worried! I've struggled with the lap band journey so far...I am 6 months out from my surgery and this is the first time that I have felt any real restriction!

Thanks!

I have had the twitching in my Port area. I have also had what feels like a charlie horse that will hit in that area after the twitching. I have found IF you start to get the twitch try to not strain it further. Drink in Water and get as much in as you can, it seems to be after exertion/lack of getting my Fluid in so I guess kind of like a dehydration. I have been banded since 2008 and it comes and goes, usually just the twitching which I think it is a warning sign. If you do get the full on charlie horse try to lay back and relax, a heating pad helps to relax it and get the fluid in. Good luck

I'm 18 months out. I also get Charlie horses in my left shoulder blade. Not so much anymore but the first six months all the time. It's funny how are bodies react.
